Throughout my life, I’ve learnt a lot of things the hard way. I want to pass these lessons to my kids, so they can learn them the easy way.
Here are a few 👇
1/ Hard work is paramount.
You cannot be average and expect great things.
Success is one of those things that compounds over long periods of time. It does NOT happen overnight.
What matters is that you go to bed today a better person than you were yesterday.
You don’t have to improve by a crazy amount - you just have to improve. And keep improving consistently for a long time.
The magic happens when you do the hard things, even when you don’t feel like it.
2/ Develop good habits & good routines.
One good habit is to have a solid plan, because a solid plan usually leads to solid execution.
This holds true when revising for your GCSEs, and also in the long run of life.
If you can think things out in your head, you’ll know where to do the heavy lifting. Less energy wasted on tying loose ends up, and more spent on executing.
I’ve also learnt that a solid day starts the night before.
- Prioritize your 8 hours of sleep
- Make sure you’re drinking a good amount of water
- Focus on getting nutritious and healthy food into your body
The quality of your input determines the quality of your output. So make sure those inputs are damn good.
3/ Life is anything but a straight line of success.
There’s a Persian adage - a king tasked his wisest advisors to create something to keep him grounded.
These sages & philosophers then built a ring. On the ring was the inscription “This too shall pass.”
That’s something to keep in mind, regardless of what life throws at you.
It is never as good as it seems, and it’s also never as bad as it seems 😂
You have to build a mind and body which takes everything into it’s stride, and wakes up every day energized.
Life is short - make the most of it!
